Al momento dell&#8217;impatto il treno viaggiava a circa 70 Km\/h e\u00a0 non c&#8217;erano passeggeri a bordo. Sul posto \u00e8 intervenuto il personale della Polizia di Stato in servizio presso il Posto di Polizia Ferroviaria di Calalzo. L\u2019incidente provocava la tranciatura di una conduttura dell\u2019aria dell\u2019impianto frenante provocando il blocco dello stesso e impedendo l\u2019ulteriore marcia del mezzo. Gli agenti hanno provveduto con l\u2019ausilio del dirigente operativo Trenitalia di Belluno a chiudere la linea bloccando i successivi treni in transito e organizzando il trasporto sostitutivo in autobus. Nel frattempo veniva recuperato il convoglio con l\u2019utilizzo di una motrice proveniente da Ponte nelle Alpi.
