Quel passaggio, che molti italiani lessero allora come la fine della guerra, segnava invece l\u2019inizio del periodo pi\u00f9 duro del conflitto, il cui primo esito fu la deportazione di centinaia di migliaia di soldati italiani nei campi di internamento in Germania.<\/p>\n<p>In occasione del Giorno della Memoria 2025, l\u2019Istituto storico bellunese della Resistenza e dell\u2019et\u00e0 contemporanea (Isbrec) e l\u2019Anpi di Feltre ricordano quel tragico momento organizzando la presentazione del libro curato da Adriana Lotto e Vittoriano Speranza, Le guerre di Umberto e Maria. Corrispondenza 1943-1944, pubblicato dall\u2019Isbrec nel 2023. L\u2019incontro si terr\u00e0 a Feltre luned\u00ec 27 gennaio, presso la l\u2019Aula Magna Bonsembiante (Campus Tina Merlin) alle ore 20.30. Introdotto da Enrico Bacchetti (direttore Isbrec) l\u2019appuntamento vedr\u00e0 la partecipazione dei curatori del testo; nel corso della serata Nanni Dorigo (Isbrec) legger\u00e0 brani tratti dalle lettere pubblicate nel volume.<\/p>\n<p>Il libro, infatti, raccoglie e presenta un ampio carteggio di quasi 90 lettere scritte tra il febbraio del 1943 e il dicembre del 1944 da Umberto Speranza e dai suoi familiari. Una fitta corrispondenza che riporta il lettore tra le atrocit\u00e0 della guerra e le sofferenze dei deportati. In questi documenti si intrecciano cos\u00ec le vicende di Umberto e di sua moglie Maria come pure di altri familiari.<\/p>\n<p>Tra il 1941 e il 1943 alcuni giovani uomini delle famiglie Speranza e Da Rold di Orzes (Belluno) furono richiamati sotto le armi e mandati a combattere in Russia e sui fronti balcanico e greco-albanese. Nel gennaio 1943 Riccardo Speranza venne dichiarato disperso in Russia. Dopo l\u20198 settembre Umberto e suo fratello Bruno, cugini di Riccardo, furono catturati dalle truppe tedesche, tradotti nei campi di internamento in Germania e avviati al lavoro coatto. Medesima sorte tocc\u00f2 a Ernesto Da Rold, fratello di Maria moglie di Umberto. Dalla prigionia, tutti e tre, ma soprattutto Umberto, scrissero numerose lettere a casa, alla ricerca di quel sostegno morale, e in qualche misura anche materiale, che consentisse loro di non disperare, di resistere e infine di tornare.<\/p>\n<p>Ora quelle lettere, conservate da Umberto e da Maria e rinvenute casualmente dal loro figlio Vittoriano, trovano spazio nel volume che verr\u00e0 presentato a Feltre e restano quale testimonianza di un tempo buio che segn\u00f2, a volte irrimediabilmente, la vita e il destino di tante famiglie bellunesi.<\/p>\n<p>Vale la pena ricordare che il libro, curato da Adriana Lotto e Vittoriano Speranza, si \u00e8 avvalso della collaborazione di cinque studenti dei licei \u201cGalilei-Tiziano\u201d e \u201cRenier\u201d di Belluno, Enzo Belo de Souza, Caterina Berletti, Jacopo De Biasi, Beatrice Olivotto, Ludovica Tazzara che, nel corso del Pcto (ex alternanza scuola-lavoro) svolto presso l\u2019Isbrec nell\u2019estate del 2022, hanno trascritto le lettere che lo stesso Vittoriano Speranza ha donato all\u2019Isbrec.
